Happy Spring, everyone :)!
It’s that time of year— the chill of winter is subsiding, the daffodils are starting to peek out from the ground and along with Mother Nature, we’re all slowly coming out of hibernation.
Coming out of Winter: Kapha Season
From an Ayurvedic perspective, the transition of moving from winter into spring falls under Kapha Season — end of Jan- mid May. Kapha season begins with natural hibernation since the cooler weather is likely to keep us inside. It’s also when we naturally gravitate to foods that are warm and nourishing. And we enjoy snuggling and slowing down. 🥰 And, as Kapha season progresses, we slowly begin our transition out of winter hibernation and into spring blossoming— essentially, letting go of what no longer serves us and creating space for new things to flourish.

When we do this, we have a better chance of avoiding or at least lessening seasonal ailments.
